  I did about the same. My 320 has the old style Matco MC-1 brakes.
When I first started flying the Lancair, I developed the bad habit of "going
for the brakes" right after touchdown. You just have to tap them at 60-70
mph and the tires "squeak" and are flat spotted. I went through three or
four sets of tires before I broke that habit.
