Install one COM radio and two antennas. Hey....stop laughing...I'm serious. Thinking back, all the "radio" problems that I have had were actually antenna problems. Since it is impossible to place the antenna so it has a uniform radiation pattern, invariably you get in a situation when the remote station in is an RF shadow. Whenever I "try COM 2" I am really trying antenna two. The lowbuck solution would be to use a SPDT coax switch, one COM radio and two antennas. Better, cheaper, faster.....heck I could be one a dem NASAr fellers.
