After eight and a half years of construction on my Lancair IV-P (didn't think they'd been around that long, heh?!), I finally pulled the plane out of the paint shop last month. It's interesting what you find on the windows when the "protectant" is removed. I suspect overspray, tape adhesives and just plain long term presence of the protectant on the plexiglass can leave behind a firmly adherent spotty residue that needs to be removed. In general terms, are household cleaning agents, alcohols, etc safe to use? Does anyone have any recommendations. Brent's tape on glass idea does not work. If worse comes to worse, could one of the polishing kits be used to remove the residue? Does anyone have any experience with these kits? Thanks for the insight and help. Doug Pohl Lancair IV-P [The most popular line of plexiglass cleaners is called Novus, comes in a non-abrasive version (Novus #1), as well as mildly and strongly abrasive (Novus #2 & #3 repepctively) for scratch removal. It's available at most pilot and plexiglass shops. Prices vary, but the most reasonable I've found online are at this URL: http://www.happcontrols.com/amusement/pinball/25132800.htm. Re: household cleaners, you can try them but do _NOT_ use anything with ammonia in it, it is specifically recommended against. There's another product out there called "Oops!" which is also approved for plexi and is recommended by the gaming people as a safe cleaner for it as well. Just another couple suggestions... ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
