I have used this exact installation, worked great for the 40 hour test
flight and local flights but as soon as I started flying across country
(OSH, SEA, PHX, GEG) I started having COM trouble, both Tx & Rx. A separate
antenna on the belly made a world of difference. Ask Fred Moreno, he'll
tell you. Cosmetics be damned, nobody looks at my airplane and says
"Beautiful airplane but, uugggg, THAT COM ANTENNA"!
If you don't believe me, at least plan for the antenna on the belly but
don't install it. You can then add it later when you discover I am right ;)
