Installing a Second Com Antenna X-Mailing-List: lancair.list@olsusa.com Mime-Version: 1.0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> << Lancair Builders' Mail List >> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >> Posted for Brent Regan : You'll be sorry.... I have used this exact installation, worked great for the 40 hour test flight and local flights but as soon as I started flying across country (OSH, SEA, PHX, GEG) I started having COM trouble, both Tx & Rx. A separate antenna on the belly made a world of difference. Ask Fred Moreno, he'll tell you. Cosmetics be damned, nobody looks at my airplane and says "Beautiful airplane but, uugggg, THAT COM ANTENNA"! If you don't believe me, at least plan for the antenna on the belly but don't install it. You can then add it later when you discover I am right ;) My .02 Regards Brent >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
