I made the area where your feet go removable on both sides. I hot-glued
some foam around the perimeter to act as a form, covered it with duct tape
then peel-ply and laid up two bid on it. After the foam was removed and the
resulting flange trimmed, I put two more bid on the underside to hold the
sub floor. The sloped part toward the pilot was made of 1/4" Clark foam
with 2 bid on each side and did not quite close up with the D-section area.
This small gap there was to allow wiring and tubing to pass under the sub
floor outboard to the wing D-sections.

I left some room up front toward the firewall so the brake lines could pass
underneath the floor in that area.

I bought some .125 Al at a surplus store and cut it out to fit on the
flanges. It is attached with 8-32 screws into nutplates mounted on the
fiberglass flange. I installed my strobe power supply underneath the
passenger side floor (just barely enough height).
