That is correct. It is even more important with the TSIO550 due to
turbos and intercoolers. If I am alone in the airplane I have landed
many times with the elevator hitting the stop. The landings have
resulted in perfect touchdown but I don't think they would be very
successful if I hadn't changed the position of the HS to -.06 degrees.

I understand that the reason for going to a -0.6 degree position on the
HS on our ES's was to provide more control in the landing phase. This
was done because of the heavier nose wi/ the IO-55x engine and a three
blade metal prop.
Anyone else hear that?
