I'm about to start work in this area, so the current thread is very timely.
I have a set of adjustable pedals which arrived in the mail as my Christmas
present from Vern (who, bizarre enough, wants me to pay for them!)
I understand that with these units, I can build a tiny subfloor and get
more foot and possibly leg room. Good enough. BUT, when I'm crawling
around in the plane I hear slight crackling noises if I ever kneel on the
honeycomb cored areas, as opposed to the belly pan foam-filled areas,
which seem much more robust.
I don't think I've damaged the core, but I sure don't want to be stepping
on those areas, particularly if they're covered by carpeting and therefore
not visible. So I planned on having my subfloor extend over those areas.
I've heard nothing about this either from y'all or in the manual. Am I
concerned about a non-event or does this area need protection? The core
seems pretty solid, but kneeling on it and having noise come out sounds eerie.
