I had the original adjustable pedal set and switched to the newer set when I switched to the newer brakes. I found without the stiffener the floor flexed whenever I applied rudder force, with the stiffener it vastly improved. Just a scrap of prepreg bonded to the fuselage bottom and fit it by sanding it down. A layer of mircro with some flox in it bonds it to the bottom of the sub floor. Don't forget to put some sound proofing foam especially under the pilots side. That is where the exhaust port is and any sound proofing goes a long way to cabin comfort. I have six hours on the aircraft now, and my test pilot remarked about 5 times how quiet the cabin is during his solo first flight. I spent 4 hours with Don Goetz in the right hand seat on Wednesday. My ex-project, now aircraft, is flying straight and according to Don "very smooth". I am still in the very early phases of flight testing but I was getting 178kts indicated at 24psi/24500rpm at 6,000ft. Don's landing technique is a bear to get use to and I am still not comfortable enough to solo. Are there any CFI's out there with at least 2 hours of time in LNC2's near Santa Rosa that could offer me some dual time?
