Scott Krueger, should you know a lot about that ?
Alain,

I know nothing (a reasonable disclaimer).

BUT,

Were I you, I would call Lancair and talk to the designer, Tim Ong.

Perhaps an e-mail to him, requesting TK5 service information might be better - then Marv (Mr. LML) could archive the reply.  His "Leading Edge" address is timothy.ong@leadingedgeaircraft.com .

There are parts references at http://leadingedgeaircraft.com/tk5specs.htm although no information concerning the fluid.

I found this in the Q & A (gulp, my time is coming soon) at: http://leadingedgeaircraft.com/faq.htm#Q2

Q2: What maintenance is required for my dampers?    Page Top
A: Always wipe any mud and grime off of the damper shaft after flight. This prevents mud from drying onto the shaft before your next flight. Inspect the shaft for any scratches or dings. The nitrogen pressure should be checked at each annual.  Prior to shipping, the initial pressure was set at 300 psi.  Pressure can be set to 250-300 psi depending on aircraft weight.

No other maintenance is required for 8 years.  After 8 years, the struts should be rebuilt with new seals.

Maybe the questions should be:

1. Can a user rebuild the struts?
2. If so, is there a rebuild kit obtainable along with instructions?
3. If not, where does a user get them rebuilt?
