About IVO props:

I tried both two and three bladed IVO props on my 235 with the high
compression pistons (about 125 HP). While they seemed to give me a real
boost for take-off, I didn't put too many hours on them - i.e., enough to
get any definitive numbers - because I couldn't keep the stainless steel
tape tell-tales from breaking.

If you've tried IVO props, you know what these are. In any case, on my
airplane, they always broke. Showing that the individual blades were not
firmly attached to the hub. IVO himself came to my hangar and checked the
torque and then redesigned the hubs to include knurling on the pinch faces.
Nothing helped as I always showed broken tell-tales upon landing. Mr. IVO
flew with me out of Torrance, Ca. for no more than 20 minutes after the hub
modification to be sure that I wasn't doing anything wild. When we landed,
the tapes were cracked. He took the prop back and gave me my money back.
Nuff said.
