If my memory is correct, Charlie did a comparison of the standard wing tips and the winglets and airspeed for the winglets was about 5 kts slower at sea level to breakeven at about 17000 ft on the LIV. The gain for winglets is in the FL's. American Airlines is modifying their 757 w/winglets and expect to see about a 5% improvement. What is Lancair saying the advantages are for the Boeing tips?

I bought the Boeing wing tips from Lancair and traded back in my winglets.  I have no comparative data between winglets and Boeing wing tips.  I was told by the folks at Lancair that the winglets look GREAT (I totally agree) but that they do not increase speed and they slightly limit roll rate.  So, I took them at their word and went with the Boeing wing tips.
