You're better off getting a FLIR camera, such as what is available at
www.foresight-flir.com ; it lets you see at night, through smoke and
fog, and still lets you see all your instruments properly (even has its
own battery backup in case you lose all power). If you want the ultimate
in night time safety features, this is it. Though this is the one we are
working with, there are others as well.

factor for single engine night flying. I'm talking about for the
unfortunate event of engine failure, not tooling around wearing them
;). The prices on them have been reduced over the years, and it
would be cheaper than buying a twin. Any thoughts?
