I'm talking about checklists and POH for crying out loud. How in the world is a guy who is 73% done with his airplane going to help put together a checklist when he hasn't even flown his airplane! (I'm not trying to make you mad, Kevin K. I'm just trying to point out a concept here, think about it for awhile before you decide to break my nose...) =20 "I've been watching this list for the last 2 years and the one thing I've noticed is that there are very few people here who really understand what they are doing." I'm not trying to offend anybody by this. If you think that everything posted to this list is golden, then we have a serious problem here. I really enjoy reading the posts of folks who really know what is going on, I wish there were more that were as thought out and full of information. I am certainly not capable of the technical prowess of some of the folks here. =20 There are only a handful of folks who can do that. =20 You don't understand. You will do new people the best service by pointing new folks to HPAT, not to your online checklists. Have them collaborate with their instructors, not other pilots. There is not way in the world they can judge the experience of the other guys here. HPAT has taken care to make sure they have the people they trust. =20 Kevin L2K-291 [Kevin... I'm really sorry to hear that you find the LML so totally lacking in=20 useful comment. If you desire I could easily remove your subscription,=20 eliminating all the "noise" you seem so unwilling to deal with. I just hope=20 that the people here, for whom you have so little regard, take this rebuke=20 less personally than I. One way or another I've been at this for the past 15=20 years or so, having migrated the beginnings of the LML from a failing "AVSIG"=20 Compuserve community back in the late 90's. Over that time I have developed=20 long lasting relationships with most of the Lancair community, made and, sadly, lost friends thanks to this activity we have all taken unto ourselves=20 as a passion few people outside of our community understand. The names of=20 the people from the LML whose comments possess all the credibility I could=20 grant to anyone are too many to list here... most of us know who they are, and=20 I just hope you haven't insulted them into silence. The guys at HPAT are a tremendous resource, one that we all should utilize to=20 the best of our ability. Training is the ulitmate key to success and survival,=20 but that is what they are all about... training... not physically creating the=20 documents that you want them to review. It is pure folly to think that they=20 are omnipotent, and that there might not be something offered here that even=20 one of them might find a useful addition to their critique of a student's POH=20 or operational checklists. They, too, are only human, and it's entirely likely that one of them may actually have made a mistake at some point in=20 their aviation career. It's also likely that someone like another human similar to those found on the LML might even have pointed it out to them and=20 helped them to keep it from happening again. That being said, please, by all=20 means, get your knowledge from the sources you feel most comfortable with.=20 Pay all you can afford for it. Just don't belittle the incredible mindtrust=20 we have here because you don't pay its members for their opinions. ] =20 -- For archives and unsub http://mail.lancaironline.net/lists/lml/
