Fixated or not, you made my point. Collaborate with the guys at HPAT, you'll get much more information sooner and more accurate without the noise. I've been watching this list for the last 2 years and the one thing I've noticed is that there are very few people here who really understand what they are doing. How does one filter the noise when you don't know what the noise is? Trial and error?! Heaven help us. Go to the experts for collaboration. Pay someone who *really* knows to go over it with you. Don't come to guys just starting out or guys that may have deficiencies in their technique or training because they are only pilots not instructors. By posting this information is a message to others that they can just get it off the internet. A dubious practice at best... One of the best thing this group can do to help insure safety is to *firmly* point others to *correct* sources, not just sources. Good luck, Kevin L2K-291 [Kevin... I'm really sorry to hear that you find the LML so totally lacking in useful comment. If you desire I could easily remove your subscription, eliminating all the "noise" you seem so unwilling to deal with. I just hope that the people here, for whom you have so little regard, take this rebuke less personally than I. One way or another I've been at this for the past 15 years or so, having migrated the beginnings of the LML from a failing "AVSIG" Compuserve community back in the late 90's. Over that time I have developed long lasting relationships with most of the Lancair community, made and, sadly, lost friends thanks to this activity we have all taken unto ourselves as a passion few people outside of our community understand. The names of the people from the LML whose comments possess all the credibility I could grant to anyone are too many to list here... most of us know who they are, and I just hope you haven't insulted them into silence. The guys at HPAT are a tremendous resource, one that we all should utilize to the best of our ability. Training is the ulitmate key to success and survival, but that is what they are all about... training... not physically creating the documents that you want them to review. It is pure folly to think that they are omnipotent, and that there might not be something offered here that even one of them might find a useful addition to their critique of a student's POH or operational checklists. They, too, are only human, and it's entirely likely that one of them may actually have made a mistake at some point in their aviation career. It's also likely that someone like another human similar to those found on the LML might even have pointed it out to them and helped them to keep it from happening again. That being said, please, by all means, get your knowledge from the sources you feel most comfortable with. Pay all you can afford for it. Just don't belittle the incredible mindtrust we have here because you don't pay its members for their opinions. ]
