Material Notes:
Description: Conoco Hydroclear DEXRONŽ III &
MERCONŽ Automatic Transmission Fluid is a multipurpose fluid for the
electronically controlled transmissions of most domestic and imported
automobiles, trucks and buses built after 1989. It is approved by GM as a
DEXRON III fluid and by Ford as a MERCON fluid. It is recommended for Ford
transmissions requiring Type CJ and Type H fluids. It is approved by Allison as
a C-4 fluid and also can be used in off-highway transmissions, power steering
systems and other hydraulic systems. Hydroclear DEXRON III & MERCON
Automatic Transmission Fluid is suited for a wide variety of industrial
applications that call for an ISO 46 or SAE 20W hydraulic fluid. It qualifies
as a Denison HF-O hydraulic fluid and has performed well in both Sunstrand and
Vickers hydraulic pumps. Hydroclear DEXRON III & MERCON Automatic
Transmission Fluid improves shifting characteristics at both high- and
low-ambient temperatures. It resists thermal and oxidative degradation and offers
outstanding low-temperature fluidity. It inhibits the formation of gum, sludge,
lacquer and foam, protecting transmission from rust, corrosion and wear. It is
dyed red for easy identification.
Havoline Automatic Transmission Fluid MERCONŽ/DEXRONŽ-III is designed
for use in General Motors Corporation transmissions that specify a DEXRON-III, DEXRON-II
or DEXRON-IIE fluid and Ford Motor Company transmissions that require a MERCON fluid.
It is an excellent choice in any transmission where the manufacturer recommends a DEXRONŽ or MERCONŽ
qualified product. It is suitable for use in Mercedes-Benz passenger car
automatic transmissions and ZF truck transmissions. It is also recommended for
transmissions, power steering systems, and hydraulic systems requiring a
DEXRONŽ-III, Allison C4 or Caterpillar TO-2 fluid.
Havoline Automatic Transmission Fluid MERCONŽ/DEXRONŽ-III is also used
as a light oil in compressors, pumps and hydraulic systems and bearings.
And from the Oildyne catalog for small package
hydraulic pumps of the type installed in our kit aircraft:
Hydraulic
Fluid
ATF,
OD18, or other clean hydraulic oil with a viscosity
of
150 to 300 SUS at 38°C (100°F) is acceptable.
If
another type of fluid is needed, please consult the
factory.
Once again, science and engineering continue to
advance, overcoming old airplane fear and superstition!
