Carl, I chose not to put the winglets on my 4P because when I took my
flight training in Lancair's 106L with winglets it has an abrupt stall with
a right wing drop which I'm told it did not have prior to putting winglets
on. In addition it increases the wing width which could be a concern if
your hangar is tight. Also, they do add a small amount of drag. Mine
flies fine at FL250 without them. The main reason I could see to put them
on is that they do look sexy.
