I and a couple of other guys have done this. Check the archives for details on
part sources,etc. You will need $100 or so and I think you want to do this at a
minimum. If you already have your lower cowling, try fitting it and you will
see. The 90 elbow swinds the mouth of the fuel servo almost exactly in line
with the ram air openning in the cowl. Your bigger challenges will come as you
think about whether you want filtered and ram air available which will require a
valve of some kind. Again check archives for good discussion on this.
Another way to go is to have your oil sump modified to mount the fuel servo on
the front (instead of bottom). This requires a different exhaust that I believe
Lancair can provide. People have done this and I understand there is at least
one reputable source to have the sump modification done. I don't know what
other issues might be associated with this approach.
