Remove the cover and sand the edge circumference smooth. Break the edges to
a slightly rounded corner. It is best to use a flat board or T section of Al
with the sandpaper glued to it. Rubber cement used like contact cement
allows you to remove the sandpaper and replace it.
Pull about four thickness of electrician's tape around the edge. Cut the
wrinkles off each layer of tape on the bottom side if the panels are square
with radiuses corners.
Screw the taped panel in place and fill the crack + about 1/6"above  the
panel and the rest of the skin with  dry micro, extending it about an 1"
outward from the panel edge. It helps the micro spread if you use a steel
putty knife heated with your heat gun. That works for all micro spreading.
Let harden.
Remove panel and remove tape from panel and screw panel back in place.
Using new 80 grit on board above sand micro down level with panel/skin.
Remove panel and carefully radius sharp corner on micro (paint won't cover
sharp corner + they chip) with 220 grit.
Paint panel and rest of skin separately. Flange that panel is screwed to
must be painted so panel will come level with rest of skin.
