Rick, a three-pole rotary switch will indeed do the trick to ground your GPS
gain line.
Check your pitch servo installation blueprint again under Note 5.The bridal
cable tension should be 15 +/- 2 lbs. If it is set to 10, it will certainly
hunt in altitude hold.Servo bridal tension is extremely critical in all
S-Tec systems because the servos move very slowly, so any slack in the
bridal will cause hunting.Also, the altitude transducer static line must
be connected into the aircraft static system, not open to cockpit air.
The System 50 is like the 30 in that it cannot operate in altitude hold mode
only because as soon as you engage the system,it automatically goes into
STB (wing leveler) mode.
