First the fuel is not 100% burned so it leaves a oily residue which is more difficult to remove than you would imagine. The second is carbon monoxide which is just as bad for you in your shop as an exhaust leak in the cockpit. I have a wall mounted Propane heater with a thermostat and a roof vent. You can get the whole thing at Home Depot for about $200 and solve all the problems.
