A few years back I took a ride on a Detroiter that was based in Provincetown. It had come up from there to the Hyannis airport for the festivities at the end of that year's "Women's Air Race". I believe that one of the owners was a woman who was killed in a crash off Iceland on their way to London for the London-Sydney Air Race.
