Hank,
I have an IVO Magnum 3 blade on my 235. The prop works,
just not very well at high speeds and therefore I would not
recommend it for any aircraft with speeds over 150mph.
It took me quite a while to figure out the problem with the
prop but put simply, the root of the blade is under-pitched
and does not increase as pitch is increased. What happens
is... takeoff performance is good regardless of pitch
setting (I have the 90" blades) Acceleration is good up to
about 160mph and then things peter out. Best I have gotten
with the prop is about 190mph. I used to get over 220 with
a Great American 60"x82" until it broke as a result of the
old style nose gear breaking.
It seems as speed increases, the root of the blade is
actually in negative pitch relative to airflow. The faster
you go, the worse the problem is. A friend of mine tried my
prop on his Longeze with similar results.
