I've actually taken my chute as a carry-on numerous times without a peep from the TSA types. Go figure! -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Marvin Kaye Sent: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 16:55 To: Lancair Mailing List Subject: [LML] Re: Low Alt. Bailout Posted for "Chuck Jensen" : I understand that wearing a parachute is a personal preference but until recently, I ALWAYS flew with a parachute. Sure, its not required but its safe and I always wanted the maximum options available. However, recent changes in regulations has convinced me otherwise and I've decided it's just not worth it. The new heightened scrutiny makes it a pain to get through security and with the recent change in seating pitch on planes, especially Delta, the seats are so close together that I can't even fold the tray table down without bumping into the chute, so I just gave it up...though I do feel naked flying without it.
