END INSERT I would never have the audacity to suggest that I speak for Brent, nor would Brent ever do the same for me. For Zerhbach to speak for both of us as we await silently for proof I believe suggests a level of enthusiasm that has washed away any residue of objectivity and, perhaps, integrity on his part. Mr. Zerbach, please refrain in the future form writing and/or speaking on my behalf. Such actions clearly cross into the area of impropriety and I am sure are resented as much by other readers as myself. So everyone has a clear idea of where I come down in this controversy, let me summarize: 1) Thus far I have seen NO DATA to support the assertions made about performance enhancement. 2) I have reviewed some of the NASA tech briefs noted. Moreover, I also reviewed some of the literature on coatings and literature. I conclude that this segment of materials science continues to make slow but steady progress in the form of small incremental improvements that can be used to improve engine performance, albeit only slightly. Most of this work is done by mixing materials which are fed through a plasma flame spray gun onto a prepared surface. The resulting coating is then finished prior to entering service. This technology is widely available for many types of applications from a multitude of vendors. It appears that Mr. Zerbach is one of them. 3) My inquiries thus far suggest that what has been promoted as "data" are in fact testimonials from well meaning customers who in spite of their good intentions fail my standards of objectivity and good experimental practice. 4) Other extravagant claims of reductions in fuel consumption and engine performance are, in my opinion, beyond the pale, and wholly unsubstantiated. I am happy to read and review technical information, and will disqualify myself if the topic exceeds my competence. However, my competence is sufficiently extensive to suggest we have an excess of promotional zeal spilling over onto our forum, and it lacks the standard of objectivity that we would normally expect of a quality supplier.
