and get the simulator and try it out.
The two big positives are waas now and victor
airway routing instead of having to insert every way point.
The negatives (IMO) are busier user interface, less
general hardware interface, and I'm not sure where Garmin is going with it
since it was a UPS product.
After trying the sim I decided to stick with the
530. Not sure how I will feel about that after some long cross countries
but my biggest concern would be Garmin plans. If I were building a
panel right at the moment I would put in a used 530 and an mx200. That way
I won't feel too bad when Garmin makes both the 480 and 530
obsolete.
If I (knew) I wasn't going to fly for a year, I
would get a panel built up and populate the stack at the last minute.
