As to breakthoughs. Yes they are a breakthrough and they are being integrated into the engines of major manufacturers now. The bulk of my business is in the diesel area where we are paid to do research into engine development and including ceramics and solid lubricants. The problem is of integration into mass assembly lines. It does not readily adapt itself to that area. So the main work is now being done on lower volume, very large diesels such as power plant diesels. One such program by the worlds manufacturer of diesels is just starting. Dietroit Diesel and Cat are using the coatings in tests now. Also if you are absolutely right then why does the new Continental Top Care kit pistons have the solid lubricants on the skirts. Why did Federal Mogul introduce last year bearings with the solid lubricants on them and a line of pistons for remans with the solid lubricants on them. Must be a major scam, right Fred?
