It's great being in the pattern and not having to look inside to extend or retract the flaps. It's impossible to bump my flaps down in flight unless I move my thumb up to hold a spring loaded toggle switch down. In four years and over 300 hours, that's never happened. I have on a couple occasions, bumped the flaps up early after takeoff, but it takes a fraction of a second to notice and correct. It's all a matter of personal preference. Skip Slater N540ES
