A friend of mine and I are doing some research into the Lancair in the hopes
of being able to start a project in the next couple of years.  We visited
our local EAA meeting last night where we met a builder who has encountered
some fairly disturbing problems with the parts to his "Super" FastBuild
Lancair 4P.  In brief what he ran into was warped ailerons, components that
were preinstall being installed as much as a half inch out of position, and
other instances of (for lack of a better word) shoddy craftsmanship.  I
wanted to get the opinions of some of you on the builders list.  Also, if
you have run into these problems, how was it handled?  Did Lancair step up
to the plate and take care of the problem, or were you told to fix it
yourself (as the builder I spoke to last night was)?  Thanks for your
