Dear Friends,
I am reading about far too many airplanes crashing in weather like the 4PT at my home field in the last month at Provo UT. That crash alone orphaned some 12 kids and 3 young wives one of which is pregnant.

Little plastic home made airplanes do not belong in hard IMC conditions even with a big engine and piles of expensive avionics!

One day someone is going to be killed that is close to someone very powerful. That could END ALL the fun we trying to enjoy. These tragic accidents are horrible! They devastate families and are will someday kill the experimental industry if something is not done about this.

This is not a condemnation of those who fly in marginal conditions but a sincere appeal to use a little more caution and consider the people who care about you and your fellow flyers when making the decison to go now or wait for a nicer day. If you need to go now get on the heavy iron, take the car, leave the plane somewhere, be inconvienced if necessary. Spare yourself, your dependents and us the terrible account of the end of your life and those who happen to be with you.

We all need to hear more about experiences relating to cool places to go and neat hints a tricks about building, flying and maintaining our airplanes rather than the latest terrible transcript or data log of the last few moments of someones life whilst they spiral to the ground in the dark and rain!

See you at the next fun place to be in my new Lancair...
Weather permitting.....
