I have heard conflicting data on whether or not the oil
cooler discharge air flow is adequate to keep your toes toasty warm.
More to the point, a knowledgeable friend asserts that
running normally aspirated (no turbo, no compressor bleed air) at high altitude
where it is cold also means low power settings at full throttle which means minimal
heat, and thus cold toes.
So, for all those using the oil cooler as heater approach,
how about some DATA!!!
What is your experience running at say 12-18K feet?
At night?
Cold or adequately warm?
Inquiring minds want to know.
