I spent near 40 years working on the design of avionics eqipment and their installations on various military aircraft and I can attest that maybe 90% of wiring failures were realated to failed connector terminations, failed connector terminals (the dreaded "pushed pin") and the like. Spliced wires (done properly) of all types rarely, if ever, failed. Dan Schaefer
