Ed is worried about metallic paint causing problems with his antenaes. My
wings are painted silver /grey(metallic) and the nav antenae is also
imbedded in the wing. I find absolutely no problems. The range at altitude
is often 75 miles or better. As for the coms , they are in the vert. stab.
which is painted blue(non-metallic) so I cannot comment on that aspect.
Don,and he's never wrong, did tell me that if I put the coms behind a
metallic paint, the only one I'd be able to communicate with would be my
passanger. Sincerely, Fred N9BF9( Don't fly like my brother)
