The Sentry was a prototype that started with an Orenda V-8
engine that didn't work out and ended up with a Walters turboprop. It
was essentially a tandem seat IV-P. Though offered for sale, Lancair
never sold any Sentry kits that I'm aware of, so it was discontinued and the
prototype was donated to the EAA museum.
It was? I just saw it at San Jose airport two days ago...
Parked.
My knowledge on the subject, if correct, is the Tigress was the side
by side seated Orinda carbon fiber V8 prototype, that had a rear hinged
canopy and was subsequently donated to the EAA. I saw the Tigress
fly. Sure sounded good with that V8. It has since been
donated by the EAA to an aircraft training school for dissection.
The Sentry is privately owned. It has a standard IV bottom fuselage
half with a redesigned top half for tandem seating. I believe it always
had the turboprop.
