Aileron/flap junction on the spinner looks something like this... Hand signals work OK at this angle, but have to be held forward to be seen on the right. A little more acute and you can't see the lead pilot's head. More acute than that, and sightlines are good, but nose-tail overlap becomes an issue when flying close.

In trail, I put the horizontal stab tangent with the top of the canopy.

ps: yes, I know my inner gear door is open. the sequence valve adjustment screw had fallen out.
