Is it necessary or advisable to paint the inside of the main and nose gear wheel wells or does this just add unnecessary weight? If so, with what? Is there any reason not to use the grey epoxy fuel tank sealer?

Nicholas,
I painted mine with the gray epoxy fuel sealer as you suggested. Definitely adds some weight, but makes the wheel wells look very nice, and also makes them easy to clean out/keep clean. I've noticed that the "raw" honeycomb/carbon fiber tends to absorb oil/dirt/grease over time, and these make it almost impossible to repair a crack or ding--perhaps the best practical consideration for sealing? I've seen a number of Lancairs that left the wheel wells unpainted, and while OK, the painted ones really add to the airplane's overall neat appearance. This is particularly true for the nose wheel well, which is exposed on the ground... but I guess in the end, it comes down to personal preference.
