 I encounter that at my airport KDLZ where fractional and private jets abound,
along with local and university training flights.  If in the air I respond
"LOTS of traffic in the pattern" .  That gets their attention and often coaxes
them into a standard (OK - a bit wide) pattern.  Kerosene burners are not all
egomaniacs.
