I have a
non-controversial question for you ES and IV guys and maybe
even you
2 seater guys. I am not getting much air flow through my heat
system on my ES. My fresh air pickup to the heat muff is on the
left
air intake on the bottom of the baffling (horizon piece as
opposed to
the verticle piece). Where are you getting your
fresh air input to your
heat muff? Any other
suggestions?
Chat,
I draw heat muff input air from the bottom of the forward part of the
baffling, too. If you are using the Lancair cabin heat valve
(1.5") the most common mistake is connecting the heat muff hot air to
the wrong leg.
1. Valve control arm should be on the engine side of the
firewall.
2. Hot air goes into the side opening.
3. Waste hot air goes out the forward opening (no cabin heat, valve
closed) and is usually dumped into the lower cowl area.
4. Cabin heat air exits the aft opening inside the cockpit when the
valve is opened.
