I have the old parallel canopy. One day I took off and thought that it was pretty loud. After a few minutes I figured out that I had forgot to latch all 4 of the latches. I latched all 4 of the latches and keep flying. There was no problem at all. I would hope that the hinged in front canopy would be at least as safe.
Was Wolfgang's canopy perhaps hinged in back?

Is there any experience with a not proper closed canopy? What if
the canopy is not latched? (I had once an open Cessna door, but this was a stable in a 1" open position, no problem)
