Rob,

Ed Smith forwarded a question so I thought I would answer you directly.

One the approach plate view of the MFD, we show an airplane symbol (actually, a little airplane) in both the lateral (upper window) and vertical (lower window) view.  In the vertical view, the idea is to keep the little airplane on the vertical profile.  Also, we have highway-in-the-sky (HITS) in the EFIS that you can be looking at on the second screen in a two-screen setup.  The HITS boxes will also show the vertical profile for an approach.  Just keep flying through the boxes and you’re flying the procedure.

Regards,

Dexter Turner
