you should know that King airs are 160 Knts indicated
in every attitude You shouldn’t pick on the king air just because
it drinks 90 to 100 gallions of Jet-a / hr .It is only a tad faster that the
mu-2 and just a tad slower than the near jet –from cessna The problem
with the King air is the wing is the same wing box as the beach 18 . Hadn’t
changed the depth of the wing for ever at Beech - Gross weight is 12500 I
used to fly it at fl 350 out of Colorado to Texas in the early 80’s
and started a slow descent to my destination , That was the only time I
saw faster speeds than 160 indicated .I flue one for 4 years and after being in
it that long I forgot how to fly . The plane is so easy to fly you forget how
to do pilot stuff . It was an old gentleman’s plane . I flue a G-2
all over the world for several years before that and the King air was a kick
back easy plane to fly. Bill Maddox
