John -

We bought Kitplanes electronic guru, Jim Weir's,  "Roll YOur Own Antenna" kit. We used his formula for the marker beacon: a strip of copper foil (adhesive backed) 34.3" long. We had room on the floor of the elevator push rod tunnel to install it. Covered it with a 1 BID. Haven't flown yet to see if it works. WE used his Glide Slope and VOR antenna for one of our Nav radios and get a decent signal in the hangar 25 miles from a local VOR.

I think, a half wavelength or about 6 and a half feet or 78 inches. OK Scott, I'm counting on you to check me on this.
