Arnie has had no problem with the P-Mags so far on his Lancair 360. I am not impressed by "moderates" or one sided electronic ignitions. While they are better than two mags (EIs, not moderates), I will never be convinced that flame fronts started at totally different times is an effective ignition system. If you have reached a point where the mags need to be overhauled, you should seriously look at the P-Mags - especially if you just want to fly rather than screw around like I do. Now, to your problem. EIs won't fix poorly running engines but can be a good replacement for bad mags. Are you sure the idle mixture is proper? Are your mags/points worn out? Ignition leads in good shape? Plugs properly gapped and clean? All plugs good? .......
