I apologize to those who have already seen the post, but I have had a number of inquiries about what was happening over the 10/21-10/23 weekend.  For those who missed it:

Lancair Pilots Fly In and Training
Napa, CA (APC)
October 21-23, 2005

Come enjoy the great weather,  autumn scenery and wine harvest in the Napa Valley. Craig Gainza and High Performance Aircraft Training invite you to participate in a full weekend of activities for Lancair pilots and their families.

Friday, October 21

Initial or recurrent flight training with High Performance Aircraft  followed by dinner at Ristorante La Strada (One mile from Napa Airport) at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 22

Attend the HPAT Ground School from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Napa County Airport classroom. For those staying over on Saturday, enjoy a Mexican dinner hosted by Craig and Sandy Gainza at their home five miles east of the Napa Airport.

Sunday, October 23

Meet the local Lancair pilots at the monthly California meet and greet. Join us at Jonesy's Restaurant (on the field) at 11:00 am.

Please look down for the details and email Craig  (cgainza@msn.com) or reply to LML if you would like to join us for some or all of the weekend! Hope to see lots of Lancair Fliers there!

Hotel:

We have secured a great rate at the  new Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield, CA for $99.00 per night per room. To reserve a room, please contact the hotel at 707-426-6900 and ask for the "Lancair Fliers" rate. This hotel is a 20 minute drive east from the airport. Hotels in the Napa Valley are quite a bit more expensive in general, but we have made arrangements with Napa Valley Reservations to assist you in making independent hotel reservations in Napa if you prefer. Their phone number is 1-800-251-6272, or you can browse their website at www.NapaValleyReservations.com.

Websites that may be helpful for the non-fliers:

www.napavalley.com  Check out the coupons for free or two for one tastings...

www.napavalley.org The official website of the Napa Valley Visitors' Bureau.

www.napadowntown.com Information on the downtown area, including the free trolley service.

www.napavintners.com Information about particular wineries including hours and appointments.

Rental Cars:

Reservations for a car need to be made in advance.  Our local FBO is Bridgeford Flying Services. They can help arrange a rental car and work with most major rental car companies. Their phone number is 800-229-6272.   The cars will be dropped off and waiting for you only if reserved prior to your arrival

Six flags Marine World is a 15 minute drive from the airport. We have several "Buy One Get One Free" coupons if you need them. They usually have a special "Frightfest" running during October weekends.

Napa Valley Premium Outlets are a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Vallejo Ferry to San Francisco runs several times a day and is a 20 minute drive from the airport to the ferry. It is a one hour ride into the city and quite a nice way to see the bay area.

Infineon Raceway is 20 minutes west of the airport.
