Me and my friend made the airboxes of our 320's with large filter boxes that
wrap up around under the front of the engine. into this we put the largest
KN filters we could fit (3.5" od x 4" ht). I then ran a tapered opening all
the way from my airbox out of the cowling to take advantage of Bernoulli's
1.9" ram pressure at my hopeful 225 MPH cruise speed. I then cut the front
of the box and added a flexible portion to it so the airbox could move
independent of the cowling. this way I hope to get lots of filtered ram air.
I will be posting pictures of it on my web page if anyone is interested.
