Dan,
I used the cowling that is for the TSIO550 Engine. (IVP). It has the
"dolly partons" around the exhaust. Lancair sells some fairing
extensions that match the "dolly" and extend them and blend them into
the airfram aft of the cowling. Think of it as plastic surgery. I
don't know if there is anything for the regular ES cowling. I have added
a few photos. You can see these cowling extensions if you zoom in to
125% or more.
