Why not just make a mechanical position indicator? Works very well for me
and is individually calibrated (calibratable?) to any installation.
A pivoted pointer in the cockhouse connected to the appropriate point on the
flap actuator lever via a flexible push-pull cable similar to a bicycle
brake cable - the kind that slides inside a flexible tube or housing is
simple, foolproof and easy to build. A case of simple being better than
hi-tech - and works even when the power fails or before you turn on the
master.
Be glad to show it to anyone interested at the Redmond bash this September.
I happened to use a length of music wire inside of a Teflon tube but you get
the idea.
This push rod not only gives me a position indicator, it also provides the
mechanical feedback to the flap position selector servo.
KISS is the only way to go.
