Burr" : John, I couldn't agree more and have easily caught the vision that you have laid out. I think it would be an excellent program and take these terrific aircraft to an even higher level of quality, safety, reliability, insurability, marketability, and many other "ilities". My only point is that the FAA can only work within the current budget and manpower constraints that they have established. I have yet to see an FAA inspector in any area of focus have their decisions reversed by a higher authority without a lengthy review process. Our world as amature builder's seeking Experimental Airworthiness Certificates will be different and the final outcome won't be known for a while because the FAA can't give it the attention we feel it deserves. I think it a perfect example of "an emergency in our opinion does not constitue and emergency in theirs." Surely and new and more focused approval process will be derived but only after much scrutiny and comment. In the end it will be a different, and I hope, a better situation. And it will take time. I too wish Rick and the EPIC program the success their terrific airplane deserves. I love the entrepreneurial spirit they have shown and the product they have produced. I wish they didn't have to wage this battle. They don't deserve it. Rick has fought battles before and he certainly will fight through this one. They certainly can use the support of the many builder's that our out there. I will offer any support I can to help as I believe the outcome will certainly have an impact on all of us. Thanks, Bryan N132BB
