The weather has cooled here by then for a nice morning flight.
We are just across the border from California. This location may
appeal to both North and Central California flyers as well as Oregon and
Nevada flyers.
Most west coast flyers are familiar with the area while in transit to/from
Northwest EAA Fly-in in Arlington, Washington or to/from the BBQ fly-in in
Redmond. Don't forget your cameras as the view of Mt. Shasta as you fly by
is always fantastic.
Medford is towered class 'D' airspace with an 8800' x 150' main runway and
an elevation of 1,330'. There are 3.5 FBO's, one of which is adjacent
to the terminal building. The terminal building has a nice restaurant for
our breakfast/lunch (Red Baron Restaurant and Lounge). I have arraigned
for group aircraft parking in front of the FBO next to the terminal
building.
The weather gods have been asked to co-operate, if only for one day.
In Oregon, you never know what you are going to get for weather this time
of year. Might be 85, might be 65. The average high here this time
of year is 83 with cool mornings.
I will start hanging around our special parking area at 9 AM
looking for you all. But sleep in if you want. The
restaurant serves lunch too. For those flyer/builders in fog prone or
marine layer areas, get here when you can, and we will have lunch
together.
I think I will fly early in the AM that day so I can say I flew
in.
I will repeat this post again at a later date.
