Is there a preferred mount and location for the flap microswitch with the
Franz AOA installation?

While I am not currently building a Legacy, consider a long-armed micro-switch mounted on the linear motor, activated by the slide on the drive.  Thus, it can be set to any flap deployment angle you are comfortable with.  The switch could be mounted with the same logic used by the reed switch stops (mine works).  Hmmmm, maybe you could use a magnetically activated reed switch - try Mouser Electronics.
